Most Coosaw Point property owners did not move here to become community governance experts. They moved here for the oaks, the water, the Lowcountry pace, and the neighbors. Governance was probably not on the list.

But governance is the invisible infrastructure that determines whether everything else you love about this community is protected, maintained, and sustained. And right now — while Coosaw Point is still in active development, still under Declarant control, and approaching the transition to full homeowner governance — is exactly the right time to start paying attention.

YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE AN EXPERT

Coosaw Futures is not asking every property owner to become a governance expert. We are asking you to stay informed. Attend a Knowledge Series session. Read the session summaries we post after each meeting. Ask us questions. Tell us what concerns you. Show up to the June 24 Open House and say hello.

The strength of a community organization is proportional to the number of neighbors behind it. A membership of 60 property owners represents approximately 25% of Coosaw Point lot owners — enough to demonstrate serious community engagement. A membership of 112 activates formal rights under the Association’s governing documents. Every member matters.
